About Suzanne Manlove

Suzanne Manlove Interior DesignerHow did you become an interior designer?

I started my career in graphic design (B.A. University of Maryland) and corporate art direction, creating award-winning advertising campaigns for companies such as Britches of Georgetown, Woolrich, Cole-Haan, and Time-Life Entertainment. I also taught graphic design at the Corcoran College of Art + Design.

After 16 years in the corporate world, I was ready for a change. I became a licensed realtor, working with Hayes & Schneider Properties, Inc., a boutique firm serving the Northern Virginia and DC Metro area.

Through real estate, I discovered my passion and talent for interior design—the art of merging good design and functionality in expressive, personal spaces – and launched Arlington Home Interiors in 2008.

My design process begins by getting to know what inspires my clients. Asking questions. Listening closely. Working together to discover exactly what they are looking for in their home. Then, I create a design based on their needs and vision of their space. As a mother of two, I understand the need for a home to be as functional as it is beautiful.

My goal is to create modern and livable interiors with a unique style that respects tradition, while embracing new ideas. I keep current with design trends and industry knowledge through the Association of Interior Design Professionals (AIDP) and the Washington DC Design Center, as well as through annual visits to national home shows and the High Point Furniture Market in North Carolina.
